Creature from the Black Lagoon - Rare Resin Monster Model - Diceman Gillman 2002. Back in 1954, Universal Studios created the most elaborate (and expensive) monster suit ever designed for a motion picture: The Creature from the Black Lagoon. This resin rarity is Diceman Creation's gorgeous tribute to the dark water denizen, produced as a highly limited edition model kit back in 2002. Dicemans model boasts a superb sculpture by Ed White, who delivers a completely accurate rendition of the original Creature emerging from the depths of his Black Lagoon. And its a large 1/4 scale piece that measures 6" tall x 12" wide x 10 deep once assembled.
The model is cleanly cast in solid off-white resin as two pieces: Gillman bust and base. This one has been prepped and has certain areas sprayed with white primer by its original owner, so its ready to finish your way. And it paints-up handsomely, as seen in some of the photos shown here.
Although Diceman's Creature model is surely one of the finer fish to ever surface within the hobby, the kit saw a very limited lifespan. White's original sculpture was severely damaged during the molding process, then model molds broke down prematurely, producing only about 20 castings - perhaps less.
If the original Gillman is one of your favorites, and you missed this marvelous model way back when, Diceman's resin rarity is ready to swim your way. Please note that this is an original garage kit, not a recast. Sassy's Satellite caters to the true kit collectors worldwide, always offering only original garage kits, never recast kits, whether unbuilt models or professionally assembled & finished items.
We are ethically opposed to recasting within the hobby and only deal in authentic original garage kits.
